Questions and answers
Which countries does the hunting season app cover?
16: Austria, Czechia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Spain has no national seasons, so the app follows Castilla y León's.
Which countries have season notifications?
Czechia, Finland, France, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, United Kingdom. With Pro, a notification arrives on the day a season opens or closes for the main game species. In the other countries every date is in the app, just without the notification.
Are the season dates official?
They are taken from each country's hunting law and the bodies that publish its seasons, and every source is cited. They are guidance only: always check current legislation and local rules before you hunt.
Does the app know regional seasons?
Yes, where the law sets them by region: Germany's and Austria's states, Switzerland's cantons, Poland's voivodeships, Sweden's and Norway's counties, Turkey's provinces and the UK's nations have their main differences in the app. The regional law itself always has the last word.
How are the seasons kept up to date?
When a country changes its seasons, the data in the app is updated without waiting for a new app version. The season pages on this site show when each country was last updated.
