Notes
- Moose hunting is limited: you may take only the 2026-27 limit set for your hunting area by the Ministry of Environment (3,935 moose nationally), shown in the Medžioklės žurnalas.
- No red deer limit is set for 2026-27; hoofed game is hunted selectively, taking weak animals and sparing well-developing ones.
- The wolf and golden jackal season ends early once the national wolf limit is reached.
- Driven hunts are allowed from 15 October to 31 January inside each species' own season; foxes, raccoon dogs, American mink, martens and polecats may also be driven outside forests until 31 March.
- Lead shot and lead-containing ammunition are banned for hunting, and may not be carried within 100 m of wetlands.
- Stalking is allowed only in daylight, from 1.5 hours before sunrise to 1.5 hours after sunset, in bright orange or yellow outer clothing.
- Hunting these species is allowed all year, but driven hunts still follow the 15 October to 31 January window.
- You need a hunter's ticket, a hunting sheet (paper or electronic) and a valid firearm carry permit with the weapon's certificate.
